Prime Minister Dimitar Kovacevski opened the annual conference with the opening address entitled: “Economic challenges in 2023: how to maintain economic growth and transform the economy” organized by the Council for the Advancement of Higher Education and Strategic Research within the Chamber of Commerce of Northern Macedonia.
“If I had to compare 2022 and 2023, I would say that 2022 was probably the most difficult in my 22-year professional career. But when I see the results at the end of the year, the way we dealt with the energy and economic crisis and the way we established cooperation on a daily basis with the Chamber of Commerce, I can be satisfied,” said the Prime Minister.
Kovacevski mentioned that “January is the month when the results of the previous year’s work are seen and projections are made for the current year, so I believe that this annual conference will grow into a tradition.” Its importance is even greater because the creators and bearers of economic policies, on the one hand, and representatives of the business community, on the other, are united in one place, with the aim of strengthening the public-private dialogue and presenting the views and ideas of both sides. This is also the way of working of the Government that I lead, to work inclusively, with all stakeholders, to listen to the needs of the citizens, to the economy, because that is the only way to overcome this biggest global energy crisis, which we live after World War II.’
